A short history of Euxton Parish Church

There is evidence to show that the church is built on the site of a chapel which was built in the 14th Centuary. After the Reformation it appears that the chapel was allowed to fall into decay until at the beginning of the 18th century it was recovered and repaired by the Church of England. In 1837 a schoolhouse was built just to the north of the church, this building now forms part of the Euxton Parish Church Community Centre. Around 1838 the parsonage house, now the old vicarage, was also built as a gift to the newly appointed vicar. The church room underwent its latest repari in 2010, it is a very interesting piece of medieval woodwork, part of which dates from the late 15th or 16th century. There are other interesting architectural features in the church. Four of the windows in the north and south walls of the nave are believed to date from the first half of the 14th centrury. At the east end of the south wall there is a double piscina and a single priest's seat which are also though to belong to the first half of the 14th century.

Euxton Parish church is an old church with fantastic interesting architecture. Inside it is an open space with a high ceiling and stone walls. There is a beautiful stained glass window behind the alter wich provides a colourful and atmospheric backdrop when capturing the ceremony from the back of the church. The path from the lychgate to the Church door and vice versa is a great place to capture the Father of the Bride walking before they enter for the ceremony and later as the Bride and Groom leave, now as husband and wife.
