A short history of Devonshire House

Devonshire House was built in 2009. It is situated in the middle of Chorley and was built to replace the out-dated building in St George’s Street. The new venue was built to include a much larger ceremony room. This larger ceremony room means that larger weddings can be catered for, more than was previously possible at the old location.

This is a gorgeous wedding venue in Chorley, Lancashire and as a result this location has a good choice of options available. Chorley Registry Office is a reasonable, and affordable choice for many couples getting married in Lancashire. 

Devonshire House wedding photographer opportunities

Devonshire House is the home of Chorley Registry Office and so is perfect for small to medium weddings. The ceremony room is reasonably large and bright with easy access. There is a garden to the side of the building which is available for group and portrait photographs following the ceremony. It’s also a fantastic location for those fun confetti shots.

As a wedding photographer I am always on the look out for suitable areas outside for further photo opportunities. For instance, Astley Park is close by and provides a fantastic background for group wedding photographs.  It is also idea for taking the bride and groom on a short walk to capture some more personal and romantic moments.
