Devonshire House Wedding Photographer - Donna & Michael

Devonshire House Wedding Photography | Cunliffe Hall Wedding Photos

Cunliffe Hall and Devonshire House in Chorley, Lancashire, were the locations where Donna & Michael celebrated their Wedding. In my career as a Wedding Photographer I have photographed many weddings at Devonshire House, but this was my first time at Cunliffe Hall.

The Bridal Preparations

Coverage of Michael and Donna’s awesome day began with the Bridal Preparations at Donna’s mums house. Donna was joined by her sister, mum, aunt & uncle and two very cute dogs. The morning preparations were relaxed with only the slight hint of nerves. I began, as usual, photographing the details – the dress, the shoes etc moving on to document the hair and make-up.  A little while later the flowers arrived, delivered personally by Mags from the Gilded Lily.  It then wasn’t long before it was time for Donna to get into her dress. Once ready Donna specifically requested a photograph of her holding a photograph of her dad. Sadly her dad had passed away and this was her way of including her dad in her wedding day. A very thoughtful and emotional gesture.

The Ceremony

When I arrived at Devonshire House the guests were starting to arrive and were soon ushered into the ceremony room. The groom and guests didn’t have to wait long before Donna arrived and was escorted down the aisle by her mum. She took her place along side her groom and the ceremony began. Following the ceremony everyone made their way outside into the sunshine and the courtyard. There was time for a for a few group photographs before the couple and myself wandered across the road into Devonshire Park for a few couple portraits.

The Reception

Once the group and couple photographs were complete, everyone made their way to Cunliffe Hall for the Wedding Breakfast and Evening Reception. The speeches brought lots of laughter. But a few tears were shed as Michael made a tender mention of Donna’s Dad. Donna’s Dad sounded like he was a big character and he left a huge hole in many people lives. Although he couldn’t be there on his daughters special day he was remembered and included in every way possible.

The Evening Do

The evening party kicked off with Donna and Michael being introduced to the floor and performing their first dance as Mr & Mrs. They were then joined by their guests for a few songs. Michael then proceeded removed his wife’s garter with his teeth, which brought much laughter. This was closely followed by the Disco getting started and all the guests getting their dancing shoes on. The party shots done I wished the couple a good night and left them all to party till late.

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing Donna & Michaels Big day, such a lovely couple who are clearly very much in love. Chorley is a fabulous town and I love working here. The people are always amazing and great to work with. On this wedding, the suppliers couldn’t have been nicer too. It makes such a difference when everyone is working towards the same thing.

A huge thank you to the couple Donna & Michael and to their families and for their wonderful hospitality.
