Leyland Hotel Wedding Photography in Leyland, Lancashire
Kim started her day at the Flame Urban Spa in Preston along with her two bridesmaids and mum. The salon was relatively empty so there was a lovely relaxed feel to the start of the day. Following the salon the girls headed to The Leyland Hotel in Leyland, where the wedding was taking place, to continue getting ready. The girls had some fantastic matching dressing gowns with ‘the bride’ and ‘bridesmaid’ written on the back in diamanté. The girls were ready in plenty of time so used the time left to share a few moments relaxing and having a celebratory glass of champagne. Meanwhile, John and the boys were downstairs greeting the guests as they started to arrive.
In a previous blog post I mentioned how I had been a second photographer and the value of having one. For this wedding I had a second photographer assist me. Stuart is a friend, neighbour and fellow photographer who was a great help to me during the course of this wedding and he captured some pretty awesome photographs too. As the Ceremony was about to begin, I positioned myself at the front of the ceremony room while Stuart took a position at the back of the room. Piano Daisy began to play an accompaniment as Kim started her walk down the aisle. Kim looked so happy and radiant as the ceremony got under way. Both the bride and groom had written some of their own vows which added a lovely, romantic and personal touch to the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, the bride and groom toasted each other with a celebratory glass of champagne while their guests enjoyed drinks and canapés. After a while the guests were invited outside for the group photographs which included a whole group shot. At The Leyland Hotel, there was no upstairs room for me to shoot from, to be able to capture everyone’s faces. However the hotel, very kindly, leant me a set of step ladders. Aside from taking some great photographs, Stuart set up the step ladders for me and he did a great job because I didn’t fall off! (I have a bit of a ‘thing’ about ladders, actually I think it’s more a fear of falling off them, rather than a problem with the actual ladders themselves, as I’m fine with heights. But as wedding photographers we do what we must to get the shot) Following the group photographs the guests retired to the bar and the happy couple and myself spent some time capturing the portraits. We managed to get a few taken before the rain started and we headed back inside.
Shortly after, the Wedding Breakfast was served, followed by the speeches and cutting of the cake. If you are getting married and interested in Wedding Photography at The Leyland Hotel in Leyland why not get in touch.
