This was my first time at Peckforton Castle as a Wedding Photographer and also the first wedding I photographed since March, due to lockdown. This wedding took place in August between lockdowns.

The wedding felt like a fairy-tale wedding with a real live princess. The venue was stunning. Being in the castle was like being in Hogwarts. As for the wedding, it was different in parts, but it was still such a lovely day, and crucially, undeniably a wedding day! The couple were really lovely, the guests very friendly, and I believe we all had a genuinely brilliant day despite all the new rules..

Legally, the number of guests were capped at 30. Guests at the ceremony were seated at a Covid-safe distance and wore face masks. The couple wrote their own vows to each other. The groom was emotional, he clearly meant every word, but he had the support of his bride to help him through. Their vows were some of the most heartfelt and emotional I’ve heard. Following the ceremony, we conducted some group photos and some formal portraits. It was a lovely spectacular day, I was so happy for the couple, who didn’t stop smiling all day long.

Attending a wedding is a privilege, not a right and a small audience, doesn’t devalue it in anyway. I had the great pleasure of being able to attend this amazing wedding, and to record their memories for them. I’m so grateful to have witnessed this couple so happy and emotional to be marrying each other.
