A month or two before Katy and Mark got married they had their engagement shoot in Astley Park. The sun was shinning and it was a beautiful day. Their two gorgeous daughters came along too and they were such a delight to have with us, always giggling and having fun! I think it’s brilliant when couples with children bring them along to the engagement session. Having two children of my own, and being an assistant cub scout leader, I’m always happy to include the children and have some fun with them. It’s great for the children too as they get to meet me and see me working with the camera. It helps them to relax and get used to me being around so that on the big day they are not intimidated by me or my equipment so they relax more and get on with doing what they do best, being kids, having fun and making great photos!

We all went for a stroll around Astley Park, talking about the plans for the big day, chatting with the girls and laughing as they would find ways of amusing themselves – look out for the photo bomb with upside down sunglasses, as well as some great leaps off the top of the bin! They are such a lovely family and it was truly lovely to witness the strong bonds between them all. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together in the park.
