Leanne & Adam’s wedding will always be remembered by me as the wedding that went with a bang!

The day began with the bridal preparations at Leanne’s mum’s house. Joining Leanne were her young daughter, sister, sister-in-law and mum. I was really happy when I realised that Kelly & Lorna from Hair & Beauty by Kelly were there to do the girls hair and make up. I have worked with Kelly and Lorna on a few occasions and have got to know them quite well. They are very skilled at what they do and I know that when I am working with them the morning is always relaxed, full of laughs and I’m going to get some awesome photos, and that’s just how this particular morning went.

Once the girls had their hair and make up done it was time for everyone to get into their dresses. When Leanne was ready, she looked stunning, and when her dad saw her, he couldn’t help but shed a tear of pride. Emotions were high and everyone was both nervous and excited. I took a few photos of the girls together, sadly it was all a little bit too much for Millie who had not quite woken from her nap so we let her have a quite few minutes with grandma who gave her hugs to reassure her. There would plenty of time for photos of Millie later. When I’d taken a few shots of the girls I headed over to the church to see what the chaps were up to.

Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side so getting some of the usual posed photos of the chaps outside was not going to happen. Instead we took a few, more relaxed and informal shots inside the church. When Leanne arrived at the church, the rain was not going to spoil her special day and aside from a few nerves she was excited and happy. The ceremony was perfect, with a well presented speech from Thomas, Adam’s son. Following the ceremony, the rain was still falling, so we took the group photos inside the church before leaving for Charnock Farm.

On arrival at Charnock Farm, the rain stopped and the sun shone through just long enough for us to get some wonderful formal photos of the couple in the stunning grounds of Charnock Farm. Following the formals, Leanne and Adam spent some time socialising with their guests before being seated for the wedding breakfast.

The wedding breakfast was going great with a fantastic and emotional speech from the father of the bride. Following the father of the bride speech it was the turn of the groom. Adam stood to deliver his speech and all was going well until suddenly there was a hissing and a popping followed by an explosion. Everyone was confused and then shocked when the pocket of the Grooms Suit Jacket suddenly set on fire. Flames were leaping out of the side of Adams jacket! The groom quickly removed his jacket and the exceptionally efficient staff of Charnock Farm were instantly on hand to help put out the flames and help the couple. Luckily the flames had only scorched the jacket and waist coat and the groom was unharmed. It turned out that the groom had a spare e-cig battery in his pocket which had spontaneously combusted to cause such chaos. Following this shocking series of events the speeches continued as normal without any more problems.

After a short break, following the speeches, the evening guests arrived in time to witness Leanne and Adam cut their wedding cake. After the cake was cut the couple took their first dance together. After dancing with her groom, the bride went on to share an emotional dance with her dad before the guests started join them on the dance floor.

Leanne and Adams day was a special and awesome day which will always have it’s stories to tell and one I will not forget. I would like to thank them both for having me as their wedding photographer and I wish them and their family all the best for a long and happy future together.
